Riyadh Air signs SAR 500 million contract with Saudi Ground Services Company for ground handling services across Saudi airports

Riyadh Air, Saudi Arabia's new national carrier, has signed a landmark contract with Saudi Ground Services Company (SGS) to provide ground handling services at airports across the Kingdom. This partnership, valued at approximately SAR 500 million, will commence in March 2025, with an initial duration of three years (36 months), and the possibility of extending for an additional two years after the primary contract term.

Under the terms of this agreement, SGS will deliver comprehensive ground services, including ramp handling and passenger terminal services, for all of Riyadh Air’s flights operating at Saudi airports. These essential services will ensure the safety, comfort, and timely departure of passengers, while maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and operational efficiency throughout the entire journey, from the aircraft’s arrival to its departure.

The signing ceremony took place at Riyadh Air's headquarters, attended by senior executives from both organizations, including Adam Boukaida, Chief Financial Officer of Riyadh Air, and Mohammed Mazi, Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Ground Services Company.

Adam Boukadida, Chief Financial Officer at Riyadh Air, commented:

We are excited to finalize this partnership, which extends our previous collaboration from August 2024. This agreement ensures that we are fully prepared for Riyadh Air’s official operations in 2025. Ground handling services are a critical part of the premium experience we aim to provide to our passengers, and we are confident this partnership will set new benchmarks in the aviation industry both locally and globally.

Mohammed Mazi, Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Ground Services Company, added:

We sincerely thank Riyadh Air’s leadership for placing their trust in our services. This contract represents an important addition to our growing portfolio of strategic airline clients and partners, both domestically and internationally. It is also a testament to the continuous development of our services, which align with global aviation standards. We look forward to being a part of Riyadh Air’s successful journey.

The partnership aims to enhance the collaboration between Riyadh Air and SGS, providing passengers with a sophisticated and seamless experience. The ground services provided by SGS will play a key role in improving operational efficiency and enriching the overall passenger journey. This collaboration is also a key element of Riyadh Air’s broader goals to contribute to the Kingdom's aviation sector development, support non-oil GDP growth by SAR 75 billion, create over 200,000 direct and indirect jobs, and improve the competitiveness of national businesses.

Riyadh Air is on track towards its maiden flight in 2025, aiming to transform the aviation landscape with world-class services connecting Saudi Arabia to over 100 destinations globally by 2030. Positioned strategically at the crossroads of Asia, Africa, and Europe, Riyadh will become a central aviation hub as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030.
